The nominated Mayor of Karachi Waseem Akhtar confessed that he had given directions to do firing in 12 May 2007 incident. According to police submitted report, Waseem Akhtar confessed during interrogations that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers fired on his directions when Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry came to Karachi
