| BJP & Congress field only one candidate each in Belagavi |

The decision of both the ruling Congress and its principal Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party to contest for only one of the two seats of the Karnataka Legislative Council from the Local Bodies Constituency in the district, which the workers on each side liken to “ match fixing ”, is taking an interesting twist, with at least two Congress ticket aspirants throwing their hat in the electoral ring.
