Kabali 3rd day earn over Rs. 200 crore worldwide in first

Rajinikanth's star power has worked big time as his latest movie "Kabali" has ended its first weekend on a high note. In the 3-day opening weekend, the multilingual movie has minted over Rs. 200 crore at the worldwide box office. Despite getting mixed reviews from critics, the film has done an earth-shattering collection in the opening weekend .

By early estimates, #Kabali has crossed ₹ 200 Cr gross @ WW BO for the Opening wknd India - ₹ 123 Cr Overseas - ₹ 87 Cr Total - ₹ 210 Crs. [sic]," trade tracker Ramesh wrote. The Tamil film has done good business not only in Tamil Nadu but also in overseas centres like the U.S., France and Malaysia.

"#Kabali [Tamil+Telugu] continues its DREAM RUN in USA-Canada... Thu previews till Sat: $ 3,498,095 [₹ 23.49 cr]... SENSATIONAL! [sic]," leading trade tracker Taran Adarsh tweeted about the movie's performance in the U.S.

Industry experts feel that the movie should cross Rs. 300 crore mark in order to gain profits for the distributors and exhibitors. Going by the current trend, the film is expected to collect that much in the next few days.

However, experts also point out that the response that "Kabali" received in the first weekend is primarly because of the hype that was created for the film prior to its release. It has to be seen how the movie will perform from Monday onwards.
