Petrol pumps shut across Punjab to protest price reduction |
|
A day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced a reduction in petrol prices, petrol pump owners across Punjab shut down petrol stations to protest the reduction in prices. Petrol pump owners in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot and other cities in the province shut down stations, handicapping residents. The petrol stations that were still in operation were open selling petrol above the market rate, some up to Rs 110 per litre.
