| PM Nawaz Sharif’s money laundering case out the window |
|
A five-member Lahore High Court (LHC) bench, headed by Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan, disposed of a 24-year-old case seeking lifetime disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on accusations of illegally amassing foreign assets by plundering the national exchequer. The case was originally filed in 1991 by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafri who alleged that then prime minister Sharif laundered money out of Pakistan by “using his influence to illegally allot government land and plunder the national exchequer”.
