Prince Charles sends condolences to Paris on 67th birthday in aftermath of horror attacks
The Prince of Wales is set to send a message of "profound sympathy and solidarity with the people of Paris" to French president Francois Hollande.
Clarence House have confirmed that Prince Charles will send the French leader his condolences.
The heir to the throne, who is 67 today, will begin a planned celebration barbecue by asking guests to join him in expressing their sympathy with the French people.
Charles and Camilla are currently on a tour of Australia and will continue with engagements in Albany and Perth today.
At least 140 people are reported to have been killed and dozens more injured during a series of horrifying attacks across Paris.
Those dead include 118 people who had been held hostage in the Bataclan theatre in the French capital.
They were slaughtered inside the building before police shot dead two gunmen.
Earlier around 40 more were killed in a Kalashkinov shooting inside a restaurant in the 10th arrondissement of the capital.
The Foreign Office is yet to learn whether any British nationals were caught up in the attacks, a spokesman told Express.co.uk.
President Francois Hollande described the events as "terror attacks on an unprecedented level".
